Introduction

ScrumSite is a content management system for maintaining websites. This is the first project that is being done by the Scrum Alliance Open Source Program.

The goals of this project are:

  1. Development of an open source tool that will help the Scrum Alliance maintain the various websites required.
  2. To provide feedback to the scrum community about the use of Scrum in open source projects with the aim of adding information about this kind of project into the methodology.

Since this project is a bit of an experiment in the use of the Scrum methodology with open source software, we must restrict cvs commit access to people who are certified in Scrum. If you are certified and wish to be added as a developer then send an email to Mike Bowler .

This software is licensed under an Apache style license as it is the most "business friendly" of the well known open source licenses.

What is it?

Conceptually, ScrumSite is a wiki with a number of key differences.

Generally wiki's are intended to be modifiable by anyone. ScrumSite is modifiable by only those people with the correct security permissions. Further, all content must be approved by the content owner before it becomes generally visible.

Wiki's generally have their own look characterized by links made up of words concatenated together. ScrumSite pages must look like a regular website - it should not be possible to easily distinguish between a ScrumSite website and a regular static website
